Isis

Isis is the name of an ancient Egyptian goddess, one of the most important deities in the Egyptian pantheon. She was considered the ideal mother and wife, as well as the goddess of fertility, motherhood, and magic.

In Egyptian mythology, Isis was the sister and wife of Osiris, the god of the afterlife. After Osiris was killed by his brother Set, Isis famously sought out and reassembled Osiris's scattered body parts, bringing him back to life through her magical powers.

The name Isis has been used as a personal name for centuries, particularly in ancient Egypt and surrounding regions. It was also adopted by some early Christians as a name for girls, although it fell out of favor in later centuries due to its pagan origins.

In recent times, the name Isis has seen a resurgence in popularity, although its association with the terrorist group of the same name has made some parents hesitant to use it.
